People who know me would say that I am a hip hippee. I try to eat healthy ( I’ve gone back and forth between being vegan and vegetarian and now I am a whole foods kinda gal). I like home cooking as long as it’s not from a can or a box. I have dabbled in making my own hand and foot creams. I enjoy studying nutrition and natural ways of treating everyday and non-everyday health problems. I would rather eat a shoe than buy non organic produce. Yet, I’m very happy to go out for a cocktail and dancing with the ladies. I’m 34 years old and trying to be the best mother that I possibly can for my baby. I started by having Miles naturally and have continued by breast feeding and feeding him homemade organic foods. I had decided a long time ago that I would stop working when I had my children so that I could raise them at home. My mother did this with seven children and only returned to work outside of the house when I was ready to start school. It was anything but easy for her to be alone at home with us all day while my father ran his restaurant full-time. She has become a huge inspiration to me and an important resource to call upon when I have a problem I don’t know how to solve.
It is my goal to be an inspiration for other stay at home mothers and for women who want to experience natural birth. This will be an honest account of my daily life with my son. It will hopefully also be a mode in which I can share my ideas about raising a child as a home based mama.
I’m not going to fill this blog up with pictures of Miles. Though I definitely could. Instead if anyone is interested in seeing what all the fuss is about, here is a link to his web site. http://milesangelosebastianbonner.shutterfly.com
Hello my dear old friend!
You so totally ROCK! I would love to follow your blog. I am also a stay at home mama trying to do my best for my kids and the earth. I’m not entirely organic or vegitarian, but it sounds like we do have a great deal in common.
Your writing makes me laugh and I look forward to reading more!
Oh, I just started my own blog a few days ago so check it out if you like
Melody ~
Thanks Melody, I’m really glad that you enjoy my writing. I find it amazing to see so many old friends that I still have so much in common with. The world is a wonderful, crazy place and the internet has helped many of us to find each other again and share our experiences. I look forward to reading your blog and learning what your life is like.
Can I just say, without malice, sarcasm, or ill-will: you and I would not get along. Were we to meet, I would judge you (unfairly) head to toe. I’m not trying to insult or provoke you. In a twisted way, I’m trying to tell you that I’m really impressed and happy about how much (it seems) our lives do not have in common. I had a knee-jerk reaction to your About post describing yourself as a “Sometime vegan, Whole Foods, rather eat a shoe than buy non-organic” kinda gal. I yelled “Bully for you, etsy lady!” at my laptop. You know what? Thank you for that. You viciously yanked me out of my ego-fug. People like you remind me how different we all are and how far away some people are from me and my life. And that makes me feel less crowded in. Breathing room at last…
Well, I’m glad that I could help.
We all put ourselves out there in blogging and we can’t all be fans or friends. I have to admit that I was a little shocked that my description of myself was so upsetting to you, but I like who I am and how I live my life. In the end as long as we’re happy with ourselves, what other’s think can’t overshadow that. Be happy and thanks for reading.
