The virtual doors are closing.

I’ve decided to close down shop for the foreseeable future. MillionMiles has been a way to express my creativity with the hopes of earning some extra cash for my family. It’s been over a year and I’ve made less than 10 sales, mostly to friends and family. I love to crochet and create new things, I just don’t feel the drive that is necessary to maintain a successful shop on Etsy. You have to be involved 24/7 in advertising, reposting, creating, photographing and posting new items. Otherwise, you rapidly get buried under the posts of other more aggressive sellers. Yes, I wanted MillionMiles to work, but I don’t have the time or energy to make it happen right now. I’m not sure that I ever will. So for the time being I will prepare for the craft fair this fall and just create for me. I won’t be hindered by wondering if anyone else will like it or if it will just sit there unloved on-line for months. I will adorn myself with lovely scarves and sweaters. Make my husband ipod covers and guitar straps or whatever I feel like at the moment. I will crochet sweet little hats for Miles to wear around town. I will make christmas gifts for friends and family without the pressure of putting new items in the shop. It will be nice and relaxing, which is why I started crocheting in the first place.
